mumbai market. this fruit was coal-like on the outsite (even left black smears on stuff like coal), but pear-like and yummy inside. he told what they were but in my haste i didn't write it down. mystery fruit!!

my debut in india was whirlwind. gorgeous and grotesque, lovely and crushing, crazy and incredible and beautiful all at once. strange to hear everyone speaking in languages you only hear from your closest loved ones. so strange to see faces everywhere that look like mine!
